About Gentle Yoga

My Philosophy

Yoga is an ancient practice that has been around for 3000 or more years. It is not a religion or set of absolute beliefs. Rather it offers the practitioner techniques to develop each aspect of oneself as beneficially and optimally as possible. It shows us how to become a whole person.

When we learn to move in concert with our breath and with focus and awareness, we are bringing body, mind, and spirit into union.  When we learn to sit in stillness with our attention inward, we further develop that union.

Yoga is not about achieving a difficult set of strange positions in a certain, prescribed ideal way, rather it is about learning to trust and listen to your own body and being, as you explore ways of making yourself healthier, more relaxed, and more accepting of who you truly are.

My Experience
